Royal Society announces additional new research fellowships

As part of the UK Government’s investment in research talent, the Royal Society has secured £58.7 million pounds over the next four years to support highly skilled researchers, including early career and senior scientific talent.

It was announced today that the funding will support an additional 15 URFs, 10 Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowships, 25 Newton International Fellowships, 5 Research Professorships and additional support for the Industry Fellowship programme. 

The Royal Society is among the academies and research councils receiving an allocation of the Government’s £210 million investment over the next four years to support and attract the best scientific research talent to the UK.

The funding was announced in the 2017 Spring Budget as part of the Government’s plans to build the pipeline of high-skilled research talent.
